Hello Girls, Welcome to your Fourth Judging Session!!!
Well, I just got back from my work and a LOT of things happened and what wrong with all the hatred towards each other.
This is a LOVE week and I see a lot of fighting in this board. Where is the love ya'll
So let's move on to the judging session.
I think everyone knew that Lily had to withdraw from this competition. Thank you Lily because we're a going to have new winner this cycle. Love you and going to miss you!!! See you later, Emma/Amanda/Lily....
And Sandra, I'm sorry girl but the time's up and I knew you have a busy live but rules are rules. I love your dedication towards ORG while being a mom to a teenage daughter and a son with autism. *Hugs Sandra. Sorry girl. Hopefully we still can see you in Redemption House.
As for the other girls, there will be no elimination definitely but we still have to continue our judging session to find the Best photo this week.
By the way, Please welcome in Brody. He just got back so we will seeing him more after this. (Girls watching at each other). I know, girls.. He's mean right?
Let's start our judging session
Amanda: Although this photo is great, it *is* from the same shoot you used previously. In a competition like this, this loses you points for originality. What was original two tasks ago isn't original now.
I do like the style and the picture and how it relates to the theme, but it isn't the most original given that you used another photo from this shoot before. There may have been a way to push the theme in a completely different direction as well. However, I don't think you'll have a problem staying in - the photo on its own is awesome.
Sonam: Yup Amber, It was awesome when I see the photo for the first time but this one is kinda boring now. The same male model, same styling. But I can't deny this photo is stunning. The connection between you and the male model is so strong
Brody: The photo is really well done. The contrast between the blacks and the whites really makes the image pop.
Tom: I like how there is a Marilyn Monroe/James Dean theme going on here. Though the photo is the same from recent shoots i still think it shows love like the assignment was told plus i'm a huge fan of black and white.
Sonam: It's a cute photo, maybe too cute, Camilla. I don't think I like the face very much... But I love the setting of this photo
Amanda: His arm looks funky. Is this a still from a movie? It certainly looks like it. Your face also looks a bit funny to me, and given that arm, you take a back seat. This isn't as good as the last three at all - this really isn't doing much for me at all. Sorry.
Brody: Camilla, Camilla, Camilla, I am so disappointed. What is this? Did you not understand the meaning of the word love? If anything, this says puppy dog crush. NOT love. Besides that, the picture does not look at all professional. Very amateur. I expected better.
Tom: To me this isnt very "model material" it looks like a normal everyday photo of you and a guy. I actually like your face though but like i said it's just plain nothing important.
Brody: I like this image. I think the values are shown really well with the black and white. The theme of love is translated over well, but I wish there was a wow moment with this image. I like this and its good, but I want better than good.
Amanda: I'm going to expand on what Brody said. It is a good moment and we can see the theme well, but there isn't enough here. I really wish that we could see more of you two. We can't see enough of the scene. That is why this is merely good, not great. You should definitely not be concerned though, because this week "good" is good enough.
Sonam: This is very haunting for me. I can feel the love and your face expression is good. You look needy and hungry for love in this photo
Tom: I'll agree with the needy part for Love but hey there are some people who are needy and need someone to attach themselves to for love.
Sonam: This is for me stunning. I love the simplicity of this photo. Very classy and elegant. The white and black helps the intense mood in this photo. I can feel the love and connection between both of you.
Amanda: That little mark in the corner catches my attention a bit too much, really. Easy to crop it out.
Your photo goes well with the theme, and I like how it's black and white here - it's probably better for this one than in color. I do take an issue with your face - your eyes are closed and we can hardly see anything. The pose is great otherwise - it's just harder to tell that it's actually you. There's also the thing about not being able to see your beau's pants... the shadow looks confusing, perhaps as he's appearing out of nowhere? Not sure how that justifies the love theme... aside from his embrace.
Brody: Lea, I do see a lot of passion in this photo. I think you captured the theme of the photo shoot really well; however, the picture definitely isn't perfect. Like Amanda mentioned, the mark really detracts from the image. It would have been so easy to crop out or even to clone stamp over. Little mistakes like that really can hurt you. Don't let it happen again. Other than that, I really like the contrast of the photo but I almost wish that you had toned down the shadows.
Tom: YES! i'm a huge Spring Awakening Fan and this photo just made me so happy. I don't know why people are talking about the stamp it's not like you put it there... I can totally see love in both of your faces and the pose helps. I'll have to say bravo. Well done.
Amanda: Someone very clearly loves you. Laying back, grasping the flowers, thinking of him... you clearly love him too.
I do like that this is a solo shot and that you went in a different direction than the obvious approach. Overall, this is definitely better than last week and you should avoid being a bottom dweller again. :-)
Sonam: It was a risky move to submit a photo without a companion because you need to translate the emotion of love in your photo by yourself. And for you, I think it really pay off. I love this photo. I can feel the love. Very sweet. This is my favorite photo from you.
Brody: While I initially have the same feeling as the other judges, it quickly changes. It almost looks like you are sleeping. You're also holding so many flowers that it looks somewhat awkward. I think this is good enough to keep you in the competition another week, but I want to see more of an improvement!
Tom: Very risky. So far for the love photo i've seen couples, you thought outside the box. No one ever thinks of the little things as love and i really like how you chose something as little as flowers to show love. Like stated i too can feel the love in this picture. Awesome job
Brody, she does have her eyes closed, but she could be daydreaming. Of the guy who gave her the flowers. That is definitely a sign of love, and that is how I interpreted it. It works amazingly.
Brody: I have no idea how you got the idea of love out of this picture. I can't see it. Horrible job. When you are told the theme is love, find a picture dealing with love.
Besides total lack of the theme, the lighting isn't the best. Your expression is somewhat awkward. This looks like a profile picture for your facebook. Not a statement as an artist. I don't feel anything when I look at this.
Amanda: Yeah, I'm with Brody. This is an alluring photo, but I don't see the "love" here. It's attractive, but not lovingly so. It's also zoomed in too much, and definitely seems like you increased the size so you could have better resolution, thus making the photo blurry. This is a huge downfall from your past photos, all of which have been very good. This one... well, you should be very worried this week.
Olivia: It's clearly the gaze you'd give someone who you'd be madly in love with or just saw and fell in love with. Be very worried? Nope i don't think so.
Brody: Considering we are the ones judging, yeah you should be worried.
Tom: I dont see love but in love. The look on your face clearly show's that you are in love with someone. But the theme was Love and when i think of love i think of couples. It's a very beautiful headshot though.
Sonam: I think you look hurt in this photo and love doesn't mean you have to be happy all the time. I can feel the love in your eyes. I see it in a different way. Love's hurt sometimes
Amanda: Really great picture. I like the pose and how your hands shape a heart, but aside from that I am not completely feeling the love here. It is at least somewhat related in that you would go through the pouring rain to tell someone you love them. Great photo, okay thematically, and overall nothing to concern your standing with.
Sonam: My problem is your face. I can't feel the connection between you and the camera actually. I want to see more passion and love from your face actually
Tom: I'll agree that your face doesnt show love but this photo is romantic and that's part of love so i like it, plus i'm a sucker for rain pictures.
Brody: I don't know what it is about this image, but I love it! I will have to agree with Sonam that you dont seem to be connecting with the camera. But this image definitely leaves an impression, unlike some of the others I have seen thus far.
Sonam: I don't know. I just can't feel the love in this photo. I think you look hurt and sad and also mad at the same time. A little bit worry for you this week
Amanda: Let me explain what I see here, since this photo does not establish a real "scene."
Let's say you're a 22-year-old guy. This is the kind of pretty girl you see on a park bench. She's pretty, but you don't know her name. You sneak a picture for a keepsake, but you know nothing about her. She looks a little worried or scared in the photo, perhaps about you taking her picture. You realize that you will probably never see her again, never know her name, and never have a chance with her. It was a brief moment of boyish lust. It isn't love.
This is the only scene I could make of this picture. I don't feel any love from it. This is a reaction to creepers. You should be worried about elimination this week too. Sorry.
Brody: I'm going to have to disagree with the others. I think you did capture the story of love. While I think many of the others went down the same path, Ziyi went down a different route, and in my mind it paid off. I can see a hopeless longing in her eyes. The emotion that she is showing can definitely be felt. The story I see Amanda is that this young woman is in love with a boy that she can never be with. She knows that it will never happen, but yet she is looking at him with desire and with the love she has in her hear.
I think this was excellent Ziyi, don't worry about the others, it's not your fault they don't have good taste.
Tom: I feel bad for you. Your not a popular face but you are trying your hardest to be just as good as everyone else. I have to agree with everyone on how you look worried and not loved but i'm not the type to be hard on you. So hopefully you'll step your game up, i will say you are very pretty.
Amanda: Brody, this has nothing to do with "taste." I happen to like this picture, but I can't see how it relates to the theme. That is just... me.
